Sculpture of Ordinary Object - Christmas Light Bulb
Finishing up the project for critique tomorrow in class. It was a fun project but I don't think sculpture is my "thing". I'll get about 4 more opportunities in class however to try something new!!

Sculpture of an Ordinary Object - Christmas Light Bulb
This weeks project at a UWG was recreating an ordinary object. I started with a 2 inch Christmas Light and created a cardboard 33 inch Christmas Light. Still have the ridges to apply to the bottom but it actually turned out pretty good. I now have my first Christmas decoration of the year. I can see it sitting on my fireplace hearth during the holidays.

3-D class at University of West Georgia
What do you get when you get a package of 100 clasp ties and are told to use everything to create a sculpture? I got a mobile. Doesn't look like much here but in the wind it's kinda cool. Our first 3-D project in Design II class. It was a fun project. Never tried 3-D except for a couple of little clay pots, so this semester should be interesting.

More Photos from Photo Workshop
Learning to remember all the things that impact a photo image is a challenge. One more class this weekend with Jim Henderson at Callaway Gardens. I need to take the Lightroom class next so I can manage all these images I've taken!!

Photography - Callaway Gardens
These photos were taken at Callaway Gardens. I'm experimenting with lens and depth of field. Jim Henderson teaches a three weekend class at Callaway Gardens each year. I've been wanting to take this class to improve my skills. It's a great series if you are looking for a way to learn that digital camera. I use a Nikon D3300.

Christmas Cards in Watercolor 2016
Several months ago I bought watercolor cards, thinking I'd make some personalized cards for friends. Like a lot of things I never got around to it. While volunteering at the Cultural Arts Center last week I had time on my hands so I sketched a few scenes. Yesterday I was so sick. One of those sick, sick sick days. I decided it was a good time to get my mind off being sick so I did a few quick watercolors for cards for each of my granddaughters for Christmas. Love the medium and will definitely do more. I think in the future I'll do graphite pencil sketches of detail and then apply watercolor washes and end with pen. I sorta did that on these but not necessarily in that order. How soon we forget!! I just complete a drawing class where we worked on shape and shadow. I have 6 more cards in the package so I'll work on something with more detail in future. This is a great way for artist at any level to enjoy painting and to use their art to share with family and friends. Think I'll try a few botanical drawings!!
