Relief
This week we are composing a "life" relief from clay. We will pour it with iron later in month. This is a small 6x6. Very difficult to work with the small size and the soft oil based clay. Looks like "primitive" art. Wish we had made a pottery piece. I could have gotten into making a memory jug!

Wood Sculpture
For the conversion from a paper sculpture to a wood sculpture, I decided to paint the 7 wood blocks as flags of European countries (France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, etc.) I kept the design and negative spaces on the surface. It still has the appearance of razor blades stacked. Wood is definitely not my medium. I loved the project put the precision needed to work in wood is crazy!!
